Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect personal information.

This notice explains how Tyltar (Pty) Ltd collects and uses personal information through this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

Tyltar (Pty) Ltd ("Tyltar", "we") is the responsible party for personal information collected through www.tyltar.africa. You can contact us at info@tyltar.africa or on 087 265 5875.

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form or email us, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, company, email address, telephone number, project location and the description of your project. For wind LiDAR and tower enquiries this may include site coordinates, heights, dates and equipment details.

If you submit land through our landowner page, we also collect the location you mark on the map, details of the land (such as its name, nearest town, size and use) and your relationship to it. We use this only to assess the land for renewable energy development and to contact you about it.

The landowner page displays map tiles from OpenStreetMap, so your browser requests those tiles from openstreetmap.org when you use the map. The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal or quotation.
  • To manage any project or business relationship that follows.
  • To send occasional news and updates, only if you ticked the separate optional box. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed to respond to you or deliver a project, for example with specialist advisers or contractors working with us on your project, with service providers that host our website and email, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its use, and withdraw consent to marketing. Email info@tyltar.africa with your request.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes

We may update this notice. The current version is always on this page.
